CTP physiotherapy and rehabilitation in Moorebank

Assessment and goal-focused rehabilitation after a NSW motor vehicle injury, subject to a claim or reference number, current clinic capacity and the insurer approvals required for treatment.

Call before booking online. An insurer may decline payment where required approval has not been obtained.

Recovery and participation

Rehabilitation linked to the motor accident injury

CTP-funded treatment must be related to injuries sustained in the crash and be reasonable and necessary. Physiotherapy focuses on relevant function and participation, with the approach determined after assessment.

Movement and symptoms

Assessment may consider pain, movement, strength, balance and functional limitations associated with the accepted accident-related injury.

Daily activity and work

Goals may relate to ordinary activity, caring responsibilities, work or other pre-injury participation that has been restricted.

Self-management

Education and an appropriate exercise plan may support confidence and independent management as recovery progresses.

Insurer requirements

Approval comes before an assumption of payment

What the clinic checks

  • the CTP insurer and claim or reference number
  • whether an initial or early-intervention session is approved
  • the injuries and services relevant to the claim
  • whether an Allied Health Treatment Request is required
  • current practitioner availability and agreed fees

What the insurer decides

  • whether liability and the proposed treatment are accepted
  • whether treatment is reasonable and necessary
  • the number or period of approved services
  • whether further information is required
  • whether ongoing treatment is approved, partly approved or declined
Important: SIRA advises obtaining insurer approval before treatment, apart from limited initial or approved early-intervention circumstances. A claim number alone does not guarantee that every consultation will be paid.

Claim to treatment plan

How the CTP physiotherapy pathway usually works

1

Notify the insurer

Obtain the CTP insurer’s claim or reference number and ask what early treatment is approved.

2

Call One Stop

The team checks the paperwork, current CTP provider capacity and billing arrangement.

3

Initial assessment

Your physiotherapist assesses the relevant injury and discusses practical goals and options.

4

Request treatment

Where required, the clinician sends an Allied Health Treatment Request to the insurer.

5

Review progress

Care is reviewed against agreed functional goals and insurer requirements.

Most CTP insurers require an Allied Health Treatment Request after the first treatment on a claim, other than applicable early-intervention treatment. SIRA states that CTP insurers must provide a written response within 10 working days of receiving a treatment request.

Frequently asked questions

Before CTP physiotherapy

Do I need a claim number?

You should have a CTP claim or reference number before the clinic provides an initial assessment under the claim pathway. Ask the insurer what treatment it has approved.

Do I need insurer approval?

Generally yes. There are limited rules for an initial assessment or approved early-intervention sessions, but ongoing treatment usually requires a treatment request and insurer approval.

What is an Allied Health Treatment Request?

It is the current SIRA form used by allied health practitioners to provide clinical information and request insurer approval for proposed treatment. It replaced the older Allied Health Recovery Request for NSW workers compensation from June 2024 and is also used by most CTP insurers.

Can the physiotherapist manage my legal claim?

No. The physiotherapist’s role is clinical assessment, treatment, functional rehabilitation and relevant communication. Legal advice, liability disputes and claim advocacy are outside that role.

What if the insurer declines treatment?

Ask the insurer for its written reasons and next-step information before further claim-funded appointments. If treatment proceeds without approval, you may become responsible for the account.
